ID'd POW 1ST LT. J.B. KIRK - 19th Ohio / 101st PA Infantry Civil War Soldier CDV religion and the bottom is theOriginal CDV of First Lieutenant James Birney Kirk (1838 1906) of Co. H, 19th Ohio Infantry Regiment and 101st Pennsylvania Infantry Regiment in uniform with sword, photographed by L. B. Silver, Salem, Ohio. In period writing on the back of this CDV is: "Birney, a prisoner at Macon, Ga., "Hoping for a speedy exchange". Hillsville, July 31st, 1864". Kirk was captured April 20, 1864 at Plymouth, North Carolina and was a POW at Camp Oglethorpe in Georgia
